Startovit improves the health and raises the productivity of bee families.
The supplementary combined feed for bees Startovit contains in an optimal composition the trace element cobalt, sodium chloride and phosphorus.
Cobalt – by supplementary mineral feeding the egg-laying by the queen increases – up to 19% more brood, the quantity of the bees increases up to 30% and their vital functions are activated.
Phosphorus – is necessary in the growth and the quick physiological renovation of the individuals in the bee family (quickly growing larvae). In the intensive feeding of the brood, the needs of phosphorus are bigger.
It improves the queen’s reproductive capability. It participates in the carbohydrate metabolism.
Sodium and chloride ions – for the maintenance of the osmotic pressure in the bee organism and tissues, maintains the biochemical processes and functions.

Startovit – granulae
Startovit-granules stimulates the egg-laying by the queen bee and the working capacity of the bees. As a registered food supplement, it can be used in the spring before the first pollen collection, in the summer for the creation of offspring and in the early autumn to support the egg-laying and the strength of the bee families.
After applying Startovit in the spring, the brood is increased and the strength of the bee family and the quantity of the honey obtained in a natural manner.
Startovit can be used in the summer active period to provoke swarm condition by directed selection of the bee families, from whom the bee-keeper wants to obtain swarms. The advantage of Startovit is that the bee-keeper has the possibility to obtain a new offspring in the best season and in the necessary quantities.
Startovit can also be applied in the autumn as a stimulant and nutrient. Thus, the bee families will have more bees and the possibility successfully to spend the winter.
Startovit stimulates the general development of the bee families and this is a guarantee for a successful honey collection.
Startovit contains sodium and chlorine ions, cobalt and phosphorus and it has been proving its stimulating efficiency in practical bee-keeping in Bulgaria, Turkey, Ukraine and Belarus for more than 10 years.
Tested were the productive indications of some test bee families after applying Startovit-granules to a nourishing solution in the spring - in doses of 0.25 g for 500 ml sugar syrup. The purpose of the research is to optimize and increase the development of the weak families and the ones of medium strength until the first main pollen collection. /Iv. Zhelyazkova, 2006/.
Ascertained was that the application of Startovit-granules in a dose of 0.25 g /500 ml sugar syrup/ five times in 5 days had a favorable influence on the indications characterizing the development of the bee families /strength, quantity of sealed brood and live mass of the queen bees/, and also on the honey productivity. The positive influence was observed in the next periods from the development of the family too.
In the feeding period, the quantity of the brood in the bee families, who have received Startovit, was increased, and the live mass of the queen bees from the stimulated families was with 4.23 % higher in comparison with the control one.
At the end of the bee-keeping season, the bee families nourished in May with Startovit had actually higher values of the indications as strength, quantity of sealed brood and live mass of the queen bees in comparison with those, who had received clear sugar syrup. The brood in the control group was with 24.58 % less and the live mass of the queen bees – with 9.7 % lower in comparison with the test group. When putting away for the winter, the bee families, who had received Startovit, had actually more bees in comparison with those, who had been fed only with a sugar solution – 1.87 ± 0.07 kg and 1.57 ± 0.07 kg.
The total quantity of honey obtained by the families, who had been nourished with Startovit, was with 21.63 % more in comparison with the control group. Actually more centrifuged honey was obtained by the bee families from the test group too – averagely for a bee family of 19.354 ± 1.775 kg, which was 36.89 % more in comparison with the centrifuged honey of the control group – 12.215 ± 2.170 kg.
